SilkAir has been awarded the Regional Airline of the Year by the Centre for Aviation (CAPA), an aviation research body.

The award is given out to a regional airline that has had the most significant impact and demonstrated innovation in regional aviation.

SilkAir’s chief executive, Mr Marvin Tan received the award last night on Thursday.

He said SilkAir maintained a clear focus on its role within the greater Singapore Airlines network, as a full-service regional feeder providing seamless connectivity with the parent airline.

CAPA said it found SilkAir deserving of the award for playing an effective role as regional feeder to its parent company, Singapore Airlines.
